Erasmus Mundus Student Protection
What will you find on the website ?
The insurer and Assistance Provider is Europ Assistance. The website has been designed by Marsh, the insurance broker, to inform you in detail about the EMSP (Erasmus Mundus) and UGSP (UGhent) insurance cover provided by your University (check your policy number if it starts with EMSP or UGSP). For each Information Section you need to scroll down.
Your insurance documents have been sent to you by email at the request of the University at the e-mail provided by them. The document is an original, and on the first page of your insurance certificate your full name, policy number and insurance period are stated, on the second page is the summary of the coverage (also available in the 'Summary of cover' section), and on the last page you can find the phone number you need to dial in case of hospitalisation and emergency assistance. As this document is an original you will not receive a paper version in the post
We advise you to download the document in the 'General Terms and Conditions' section, and to check the full description of the cover and exclusions applicable. When you go to see a doctor or specialist, always ask for a medical report. If the Insurer does not know the nature of your medical treatment they will not be able to refund you.
The Assistance Provider is Europ Assistance and in case of Hospitalisation and Emergency you need to contact the Assistance Provider 24/7 on the phone number provided in the 'Assistance Needed - Hospitalisation' section. Always clearly mention your full name and policy number.
Marsh will assist you in the answering of questions you still may have relating to the cover through the 'Contact Us' section when the reply to your query is not provided in the 'F.A.Q.' (Frequently Asked Questions) section. Always clearly mention your full name and policy number. You also can contact us by email emis2.info@marsh.com. Never call the helpline for questions about the cover. For queries regarding the status of your claim refund we will not be able to assist you. For claim refunds you will need to contact the Claims Administrator of the insurer by clicking on the web link indicated in the Claim Procedure section.
The claim refunds are treated by the insurer Europ Assistance, and not by Marsh. The procedure and link to be used are available in the 'Claim Procedure' section.
